What is donkey milk?
Donkey milk for sale
In addition to our processed products, we sell donkey milk produced on our farm, by our animals. This milk is the product of family farming that is respectful of the donkeys’ needs and characteristics. The milk is not intended for human consumption, as this would require obtaining a special permit from MAPAQ. Our milk if destined for cosmetics production.
Donkey milk is of interest both to individuals who enjoy making soap for their own enjoyment and traditional soap makers looking to develop new products. It is also valuable to small and medium enterprises interested in producing cosmetics derived from donkey milk.
Our milk is currently available in frozen and freeze-dried form.
Feel free to contact us for more information on donkey milk sales, using the Contact section.
Helpful information on the use of freeze-dried milk
Donkey milk contains an average 80 to 90 g of dry matter per liter of fresh milk. This means 80 to 90 g of freeze-dried milk powder will be required to reconstitute one liter of milk. Soap makers usually use 5 to 10% milk in the total weight of the soap. Good results are also achieved in creams with 10%, although the proportion can run as high as 50%. At this percentage, however, the characteristic odour of freeze-dried donkey milk is very present.
So, someone making 10 bars of soap would need 100 g of fresh milk, or 8 to 9 g of freeze-dried milk powder.
